Who is responsible

BambooSMP is run by its owner and a small volunteer staff team. The owner is responsible for the data described on this page. Payment data is the exception: that is held by Tebex, as explained below.

This website

• There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no tracking cookies.
• Your browser remembers a few things for you: the Minecraft name and edition you type in the store, your open basket, and which vote sites you have already visited today. This stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Clearing the site data in your browser removes it.
• To show live content, your browser contacts a few other services directly: Tebex (store and checkout), mc-heads.net and minotar.net (player skin heads), mcsrvstat.us (server status) and the live map on our game server. Like any website, each of them sees your IP address.
• Our web host keeps standard access logs for security.

The store

• Payments are handled by Tebex Limited. Your card and billing details go straight to Tebex and never reach this site or the server. TheTebex privacy policycovers that data.
• Tebex shows us the order: your Minecraft name, what you bought, the price, the time, the transaction ID and the email address used at checkout. We use it to deliver the purchase and to help if something goes wrong.
• The site shows the Minecraft names of recent supporters. It never shows what anyone spent. Ask us if you would rather not be listed.

The Minecraft server

When you play, the server records:

• your Minecraft username and account ID (UUID);
• your IP address and when you join and leave;
• chat messages and commands;
• blocks you place or break and chests you open, so that griefing can be rolled back;
• your game progress: balance, claims, items, statistics and votes;
• warnings, mutes and bans;
• your Discord account, if you choose to link it.

The live map shows where online players are. Use /map hide in game to take yourself off it.

Why we keep it

• To run the game and save your progress.
• To deliver purchases and vote rewards.
• To moderate: investigate reports, undo griefing, and stop cheating and ban evasion.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who else sees it

• Staff, as far as they need it to moderate.
• The companies that host the game server and this website.
• Tebex, for purchases, and Discord, if you join our Discord server.
• Authorities, if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Game progress is kept for as long as the server runs, so you can come back to it.
• Chat and block logs are kept for as long as they are useful for moderation.
• Ban records are kept for as long as the ban matters, including for ban evasion checks.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will delete what we can; some records, such as an active ban, have to stay. If you live in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.

For payment data, contact Tebex through theircheckout support.

Younger players

The store is for people aged 16 and over. If you are younger, a parent or guardian has to make the purchase. Parents can contact us to ask what we hold about their child or to have it removed.

Changes to this page

We may update this page as the server changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
