House rules
Server rules
BambooSMP runs on the assumption that everyone here wants the same thing: somewhere calm to build. These rules exist to keep it that way, and staff read them the same way you do — with common sense.
The short version
Three rules cover almost everything. The rest is detail.
- Don't ruin someone else's day — no griefing, stealing, or harassment.
- Play fair — no cheats, exploits, or alt accounts used to get around limits.
- Keep chat friendly — this is a server people log into to relax.
Building and land
- Build at least 200 blocks from someone else's base unless they invite you closer.
- Never break, take from, or build onto another player's base without permission — including "improvements".
- Public farms are shared. Use them, restock them, and leave the redstone alone.
- Abandoned builds stay standing. Ask staff before clearing anything you did not build.
- Nothing lag-inducing: no giant mob grinders left running, no oversized flying machines, no chunk-loader stacking.
Fair play
- No hacked clients, x-ray, macros, or auto-clickers. Minimaps without cave/entity radar are fine.
- No duplication or item exploits. If you find one, report it — you will not be punished for reporting.
- One account per person. Alts are allowed only for trusted, staff-approved cases and never to farm limits or votes.
- PvP is opt-in. Both players have to agree, and killing someone who did not agree means returning their items.
Chat and community
- No slurs, harassment, or bigotry of any kind. This one carries an immediate ban.
- Keep it broadly all-ages: no explicit content in chat, builds, skins, or names.
- No advertising other servers, and no DM spam or scam links.
- Disagreements happen — take heated ones to DMs or to staff, not to global chat.
Purchases
- Everything in the store is cosmetic, convenience, or currency. Nothing sold gives a combat or progression advantage.
- Purchases are one-time — there is no subscription to cancel.
- Purchases deliver automatically within a couple of minutes. If something does not arrive, open a ticket with your transaction ID.
- Chargebacks result in a permanent ban across the network. If there is a problem, talk to us first — we would rather fix it.
- Being banned does not entitle you to a refund on past purchases.
Enforcement
Staff apply these with common sense, not as a checklist. Most first offences are a warning.
- Warning → temporary mute or ban → permanent ban, depending on severity and history.
- Cheating, griefing at scale, and hate speech skip straight to a permanent ban.
- Appeals are handled in Discord. Be honest about what happened; it genuinely helps your case.
- Staff decisions can be appealed, but arguing in global chat is not the way to do it.
Something not covered here?
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask before you do it. Staff would much rather answer a question than undo a mistake.
