Make a claim
The quick way: place a chest
Place a chest and a small claim is made around it automatically. That's enough to keep a first base safe.
The exact way: a golden shovel
Hold a golden shovel and right-click one corner of the land. A diamond block marker shows where you clicked.
Walk to the opposite corner and right-click again. Glowstone with two gold blocks appears at the corners, and the claim is made.
Make a claim bigger or smaller
Hold the golden shovel and right-click the glowstone at the corner you want to move. It disappears.
Right-click where the new corner should go, and it appears there.
Trust your friends in your claim
Stand inside your claim and use one of these. Each one gives a bit more than the one above it.

| /untrust <player> | Take their trust away again. |
If someone griefs your build
Grief protection stops most of it, and staff roll back anything that gets through. Report it in the Discord and they'll sort it out.
